Made with recycled PU
This beautiful bag is made from GRS-certified* post-consumer polyester and pre-consumer polyurethane (PU) waste.
The raw material is crushed and ground into fibres. These fibres are mixed with natural rubber, resin and other raw materials (such as wood fibre) to make a paste. The paste is then compressed into a filter cake and bonded with a PL base. The final material is obtained after each layer is extruded, bonded, dehydrated and dyed.
It is extremely soft to the touch and has exceptional durability. If we can have beautiful, recycled materials without harming anyone, why should we not use them?

*Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certifies products obtained from recycled materials and manufacturing activities. It enhances products made from recycled materials in compliance with environmental and social criteria extended to every product of the production chain. All products that are composed of at least 20% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycling materials can be GRS certified. BioVeg articles are made on a PES backing obtained from post-consumer plastic bottles certified by GRS. On average 1200 plastic bottles are used to make 100 linear metres of BioVeg material. Left to their own devices, those bottles would take over 400 years to decompose turning into micro plastic, one the most polluting substance for the oceans.
